A survey conducted by LIMRA indicates that workforce benefits will play a valuable role in attracting and keeping employees over the next two years.
From this study of private employers with 10 or more employees, we discover which benefits employers are most interested in adding to their plans.
Here a few key findings from their report..
- Up to 3 in 5 of all private employers in the U.S. with 10 or more employees are considering adding a new insurance benefit within the next two years, which is roughly double the interest level expressed in 2017.
- Preferences as to the specific types of insurance benefits that will be added hinge on the existing options already in place. Overall, disability (short-term and long-term) and vision care benefits are generating the most interest. Many employers are considering multiple new offerings.
- More than half of the employers with no insurance benefits may soon introduce their first plan(s) to their workforce. These businesses clearly prioritize major medical coverage.
- If all the organizations that are considering new benefits follow through, approximately 784,000 employer groups will introduce a new insurance benefit over the next two years; reaching more than 86 million employees.
