National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) runs all throughout the month of February. The American Dental Association (ADA) uses this month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health by providing materials that can be used in schools, communities, and even in your own home.
According to the American Thyroid Association (ATA), “An estimated 20 million Americans have some form of thyroid disease, but up to 60 percent of those affected are not aware that the symptoms they are experiencing can be treated.”
January is not only the beginning of a brand-new year, but it is also National Glaucoma Awareness month. Amid the annual process of making new year’s resolutions, consider adding, “make a trip to the eye doctor” to your list.
January is National Birth Defects Awareness Month. According to the CDC, the goal is to “raise awareness about birth defects and highlight efforts to improve the health of people living with these conditions across their lifespan.”
