January is National Blood Donor Month, a time when we remind people about the importance of donating blood regularly for those who are able to do so
Katie Scott Inspired Blood Drive
This year, AmeriLife Benefits supported the blood drive in memory of Katie Scott, which helps so many in our community and beyond who are in need.
Katie Scott was an inspiration to many. She lost her fight to rare bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma, in 2018. Katie received multiple blood transfusions which helped her recover from chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Those transfusions were critical to her quality of life and ability to keep fighting, allowing Katie more time with family and friends.
Give Blood, Help Save Lives
The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage as it experiences the lowest number of people giving blood in the last 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures proceed without delay.
